The inaugural version of Arth-Samvaad  is fortunate to be graced by eminent personalities in the field of finance. Deliberating on the topic – Are Indian Businesses decoupled from the rest of the world? , these leaders shall delve into the rich experience that they have gained while working at the helm of some of the biggest companies in corporate India. In addition to the CFOs of companies such as Shapoorji Pallonji, Zydus Cadila, Suzuki Powertrain, GE Energy India & Oracle Financial Services, the panel will also include Mr. Ramesh Bhat who is a former professor at IIMA and also has done significant research at the Harvard School for Public Health.

One of the panelists for Arth-Samvaad, Mahesh Tahilyani is a Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary, Information System Analyst from India and a Cost & Management Accountant from CIMA, UK. He has been with the SP group as the GFC for the last 2 years and has been involved in various areas such as Financial Performance Management, Investment Management, Capital Allocation in addition to looking at business controls, Acquisition (Incl. due diligences) and restructuring. Before the SP Group, he had a combined experience of more than 22 years with a leading multinational organization in areas of Finance and Control, Budgeting, Commercial, Governance, Internal Audit Risk Management, Business Process Re-engineering and Corporate Planning.

One of the panelists for Arth-Samvaad, Mr. Parekh is currently the Group Chief Financial Officer of Zydus Cadila with its flagship company, Cadila Healthcare Limited. Prior to joining Zydus Cadila, he was the Executive Director at the Ashima Group of Companies. An alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad, Mr. Parekh is a CA & CFA (ICFAI) and has also secured top ranks from the Gujarat University while completing his B.Com and LL.B. He has been given the CFO100 Roll of Honor for 2012 by the CFO institute for his contributions to risk management. A member of the Zydus Management Council, he is also on the Board of Directors of group companies of the likes of Biochem Pharmaceutical and Liva Healthcare.

An alum of Delhi School of Economics, Mr. Ramesh Bhat was a professor at IIM-A for more than 23 years. He has also undertaken significant research with the Harvard School of Public Health and has published numerous papers many of which are the best and the most cited in their respective domains. He has also been accorded the “Best Teacher in Management” by the Deccan Herald, by virtue of his work at IIM-A.  With an academic and professional work experience spanning 32 years, Mr. Bhat has been involved in institution building and undertaking various development activities in the organizations he worked with. An authority in the field of public policy making, he has been associated with the Ministry of Human Resource Development as Advisor, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Harvard School of Public Health, Public Systems Group (PSG) and Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) at IIM Ahmedabad. As consultant and advisor to numerous public and private sector organizations Mr. Bhat has worked in advisory capacity for National AIDS Control Program India, DFID New Delhi, Royal Netherlands Embassy New Delhi and the World Health Organization.

With more than 18 years of work experience under his belt, Mr. Deepak Doegar is the CFO of the Indian business of GE Energy since 2008. Mr. Doegar started his career in 1994 as an Associate Consultant with AF Ferguson & Co, after which he moved to General Electric. A Chartered Accountant, Mr. Deepak Doegar has also used the skills and experience developed over the years as the role of a CFO cum Integration Leader in Genpact Netherlands in 2007.

With more than 30 years of work experience in the financial domain, Mr. Makarand Padalkar started his career with Tata Unisys Ltd in 1982, where he grew to become the Group Manager by1994. An alumnus of IIT Bombay where he did his M.Tech, Mr. Padalkar has been the CFO of Oracle Financial Services since 2007.

Manish Vora is responsible for developing business across Large Corporates & Infra companies in Gujarat. Manish also represents MD & CEO office for the state and provides overall guidance to other BUs of the bank, represents bank at various business chambers/Govt. institutions etc.

Manish is a career banker and has over 20 years of experience in handling corporate credit & relationship management. Immediately prior to joining YES BANK in 2005, Manish was with G E Capital Services – India in charge of developing corporate business among Mid & Large sized Corporates of Gujarat and has earlier worked with organisations like ICICI Bank, Centurion Bank, Lloyds Finance & Gujarat Lease Financing.

Manish is a Graduate in Commerce & also holds Professional Degree at Law from GujaratUniversity. Manish is also a Junior Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers and holds Diploma in IR & PM from Bhartiya Vidhya Bhawan.
